Dr.Miten Patel is board-certified in medical oncology, internal medicine, and hematology, and practices at our Southpoint location. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Biology in his home state of New Jersey, Dr. Patel moved to Virginia where he earned his Doctor of Medicine from Medical College of Virginia. During his final year of medical school, Dr. Patel served as the co-instructor for the Foundations of Clinical Medicine course.
From 1994-1997, Dr. Patel worked one-on-one with the 2015 Nobel Prize winner in Medicine, Dr. WilliamC. Campbell, as a student in his lab. During this time, he co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles and won several research awards.
The residency and fellowship programs at the University of Florida in Gainesville brought him to south to Florida, and he joined CSNF soon after their completion in 2007. In addition to serving as CSNF's lab director, Dr. Patel has held many leadership positions at St. Vincent's, Southside, including President of Medical Staff, Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine, and most recently, Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology. He has also served on the Board of Directors for St. Vincent's Healthcare.
With over 15 years of experience in clinical research, including clinical trials, Dr. Patel emphasizes that an informed patient is an empowered patient.
When not at the office, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and working on his Corvette.
