Debra Thomas Burhans

Debra Thomas Burhans is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in higher education and a diverse background in music and computer science. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Canisius College since August 2001, Debra has also worked with the SNePS Research Group at SUNY Buffalo from 1995 to 2012 and held the position of Councilor at the Council on Undergraduate Research from 2004 to 2010. In 2009, Debra participated in the production of Woy/Ubu at Real Dream Cabaret Theater as a Robot Army Commander. Debra holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo, a B.A. in Music from Canisius University, and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan, complemented by foundational education at Earthworks/Pioneer II.
