Shane Arney

Shane Arney has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Shane currently holds the position of Director of Engineering Craftsmanship at Canoe, starting in April 2023.

Prior to that, Shane worked at Scribd as the Director of Content Engineering from February 2021 to November 2022. Shane was responsible for managing three managers and a team of ICs, overseeing the development of various content systems and infrastructure. Shane also served as the Senior Manager of Content Engineering at Scribd from April 2019 to February 2021, where they managed two teams and played a key role in enhancing Scribd's content metadata systems.

Before Scribd, Shane worked at Microsoft as a Senior Engineering Lead from August 2018 to February 2019. Additionally, they served as the Head of Engineering at Bonsai from December 2015 to July 2018.

Shane's earlier work experience includes roles at Opower, where they were an Engineering Manager and Senior Software Engineer, EmployInsight as a Senior Software Engineer, and NextEngine as a Software Engineer. Shane also interned at Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer Intern.
