Group Head Of Tax at Canopius

Jennie Rimmer has a strong background in tax management and leadership roles. Jennie is currently serving as the Group Head of Tax at Canopius Group since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at R&Q as the Head of Group Tax from 2017 to 2022, where they were responsible for managing and delivering various tax aspects across the group. From 2011 to 2017, Jennie held the position of Group Head of Tax at Aspen Re, where they oversaw all aspects of tax for the global insurance and reinsurance group. Before that, they worked at Lockton Companies as the Group Head of Tax from 2007 to 2011, where they played a key role in bringing the tax function in-house and led a transformation project. Jennie also held the role of Group Head of Tax at JLT Group from 2000 to 2006, where they managed tax matters for the extensive international plc and participated in various M&A and due diligence projects. Jennie started their career as an Assistant Tax Manager at KPMG from 1996 to 2000. Throughout their career, Jennie has gained extensive experience in corporate and international tax, transfer pricing, IPT, FET, VAT, employment tax, and advising on international tax aspects of M&A.

Jennie Rimmer LLB (Hons) CTA Fellow began their education at Woking Sixth Form College, where they obtained their A Levels. Jennie then attended the University of Reading from 1993 to 1996, earning a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. In 1996, they pursued further education at the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) and became a Chartered Tax Adviser.

Throughout their career, Rimmer continued their education at CIOT, achieving various memberships and positions within the institute. In 2008, they became a member of the Corporate Tax Committee, and in the same year, they also joined the International Tax Committee. Their dedication and expertise were recognized further when they were appointed as the Chair of the Commerce & Industry Group at CIOT in 2010.

Rimmer's pursuit of knowledge did not stop there. In 2014, they obtained the esteemed designation of CTA (Fellow) by the Chartered Institute of Taxation, strengthening their professional standing and expertise.
