Investment Strategy at Canopius

Jonathon Griggs has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the finance and education sectors. Jonathon currently works at Canopius Group as part of the Investment Strategy team. Previously, they taught economics at St Albans School from 2021 to 2022. In 2019, they worked for Absolute Strategy Research Ltd, focusing on multi-asset allocation research. Before that, they held a leadership position at J.P. Morgan Asset Management from 2015 to 2019, where they oversaw the Quantitative Research Group and Investment Grade Corporate Research. Jonathon also served as a Partner at Rogge Global Partners, where they managed the Sovereign Debt Portfolio Management Team and chaired the Asset Allocation Committee. Additionally, they held various roles at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, including CIO of the Currency Management Group and Head of Research for Global Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities. Jonathon began their career as the Global Head of Foreign Exchange Research at ING Barings and later worked as a Fixed Income and Currency Portfolio Manager at Citi. Earlier on, they served as the Head of Research in the Markets Division at Barclays Capital. Jonathon started their professional journey as a Lecturer at the University of Warwick. Griggs has acquired extensive experience in investment management, research, leadership, and teaching throughout their career.

Jonathon Griggs completed their MSc in Economic at the University of Warwick from 1987 to 1988. Prior to that, they obtained a B Soc Sc in Economics and Banking from the University of Birmingham, where they studied from 1984 to 1987. In addition to their degrees, Griggs also obtained the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) from the CFA Society United Kingdom in August 1997.
