Canstar
“We want to help consumers make the right purchase decisions…” - Andrew Spicer, Canstar CEO Canstar was established in 1992 as a privately owned financial research agency. As an Australia and New Zealand’s premier research and expert ratings agency, we have a team of around 150 talented people working with more than 30,000 products and over 750 brands in the financial services industry. We are the original financial comparison site, providing free online comparison with expert value-based Star Ratings and what’s more we are now Australia’s biggest financial comparison site, comparing more brands than any other.* In 2010, we launched Canstar Blue to provide customer satisfaction research and rating for over 120 different product and service categories covering over 900 brands. We engage respected professional market research companies, Qualtrics, Colmar Brunton and I-view (owned by Ipsos), to ask consumers about their personal brand experiences. With a strong focus on product and service excellence, our aim is to act as the real voice of the consumer (based on quantitative research). Recently we have expanded to offering consumers free online comparison of Electricity and Telco plans. Whilst our rating models differ between Canstar and Canstar Blue, we exist to help customers confidently choose the right product for them irrespective of whether it is a home loan, a super fund or an energy plan. In 2021, financial comparison site, RateCity (RateCity.com.au) joined the Canstar Group. *See Canstar.com.au/biggest-original for more details.
