Johan Karlsson

Johan Karlsson has been working in the biopharmaceutical industry since 2001. Johan started off as a Purification Specialist at Novozymes Biopharma, where they worked with protein purification under GMP and was responsible for technology transfer, developing purification methods, and providing support to the production. In 2004, they joined Novo Nordisk as a Senior Scientist, where they worked with protein purification in R&D, both with proteins and peptides within diabetes and heamophilia. Johan was responsible for supplying projects with purified proteins and developing purification processes to be used in clinical production. In 2018, they joined Hansa Biopharma AB (publ) as a Senior Scientist, where they worked with the development of the down stream process of a protease expressed in E. coli, and was responsible for the successful technology transfer of the process to an external CMO. Currently, they are a Senior Scientist at Cantargia AB since 2021.

Johan Karlsson completed a PhD in Biochemistry from Lund University between 1996 and 2001. Johan then pursued a Master's degree in Biochemistry from Lund University between 1992 and 1996. In 2017 and 2018, they attended Malmö University for a Kompleterande Pedagogisk Utbildning.
