Leonie Seliger

Leonie Seliger has had a diverse range of work experiences in the field of stained glass conservation. Leonie began their career in 1990 as a Glazier at Herbold Glaskunst in Karlsruhe. In 1991, they joined Canterbury Cathedral as a Senior Conservator, a role they held until 2005 when they were promoted to Director of Stained Glass Conservation. During their time at Canterbury Cathedral, they also worked as a Conservation Consultant from 2012 to 2014. In 2004, Seliger served as an Advisor to the DAC at Canterbury Diocese, and in 2006, they took on the same role at Rochester Diocese. Seliger also worked as the Editor of the Stained Glass Section of ICON News at the ICON Institute of Conservation from 2006 to 2013. Additionally, they participated in the Gordon Cook Conversations in 2011 and was a Research Partner for the CONSTGLASS European Research Project from 2006 to 2009.

Leonie Seliger began their education at Erwin-Stein-Schule Staatliche Glasfachschule Hadamar, where they completed an apprenticeship in Stained Glass Manufacture from 1987 to 1990. Leonie then pursued further education at the University of York from 1999 to 2001, where they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Conservation Studies (Historic Buildings).
