Kate Dowling

Kate Dowling is an experienced clinical social worker currently employed at Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury since September 2017. Prior to this role, Kate worked as a community support worker at Emerge Aotearoa, assisting individuals with mental health and addiction challenges. Additionally, Kate has a diverse background in mental health advocacy, having served as a freelance mental health and addictions experience advisor, a social work intern at Te Whare Awhero, and a youth consumer advisor at Canterbury District Health Board. Kate's earlier career included a position as a broadband service coordinator at Telecom New Zealand. Kate holds a Bachelor of Social Work with First Class Honours from the University of Otago, complemented by several postgraduate qualifications in health sciences and cognitive-behavioral therapy from esteemed institutions.
