Michael Garchinski has a strong background in retail, particularly in the areas of merchandising and marketing. Michael served as Vice President at Groupe Cantrex Nationwide Inc., where they developed strategic plans and financial approaches for merchandising categories worth $500 million. Michael was responsible for managing the business P&L and controlling expenses. Additionally, they introduced greater operational discipline and accountability within the company.
Before joining Groupe Cantrex Nationwide Inc., Garchinski worked at Sears Canada for over a decade. Michael held various roles including Divisional Vice President for Hardlines, where they focused on developing merchandise strategies and business plans for a $1.5 billion multi-channel category. Michael also held positions as Divisional Merchandise Manager, Buyer, Retail Marketing Manager, and Associate Marketing Manager, gaining experience in various areas of the retail industry.
Michael Garchinski attended Brock University from 1992 to 1996, majoring in Health Studies.
