Debbie Butt

Director, Communications, Marketing & Events at Canuck Place Children's Hospice

Debbie Butt has had extensive experience in various communication and leadership roles. Debbie started their career in 1994 as the Director of Media Relations for the Vancouver Grizzlies in the National Basketball Association. Debbie then moved on to become the Director of Communications and Media Relations for the BC Lions Football Club in 2002. From 2005 to 2010, they worked as the Executive Director of Canucks for Kids Fund and Director of Community Partnerships for Canucks Sports & Entertainment. In 2011, they joined the Rick Hansen Leadership Group at the Rick Hansen Foundation as the Director of Brand & Communications. Debbie is currently the Director of Communications, Marketing & Events at Canuck Place Children's Hospice, a position they have held since 2012.

Debbie Butt started their education at Grimsby Secondary High School from 1980 to 1985. After completing high school, they attended The University of British Columbia from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and English. Debbie then continued their studies at Toronto Metropolitan University from 1989 to 1991, earning a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism.
