The Canadian Association for Photographic Art is a vibrant membership community for photographers and photography clubs across Canada. We support photographers of all skill levels with expert-led courses, national conferences, creative competitions, and engaging educational content. Members also enjoy our high-quality full-colour print magazine, exclusive website resources, active social media engagement, and regular newsletters - all designed to inspire creativity and enhance photographic skills.

MISSION:

Our mission is to foster a vibrant and inclusive community that promotes ethical practices and advances the art of photography for all skill levels. We inspire and empower photographers to tell meaningful visual stories through creativity, education and community.

MEMBERS:

Our members range from novice to expert, many of whom are recognized among the best photographers in Canada. Frequently, CAPA members receive international acclaim through their published photographic work, articles and their courses. New photographers can quickly build their skills through interaction with other CAPA members, who will share their experiences and techniques. Our clubs can be found across Canada, all of whom are eager to welcome new members. We have more than 100 member clubs and over 1,300 individual CAPA members.

NON-PROFIT CHARITY:

The Association operated under a charter from the Federal Government as a Non-Profit Charitable Corporation, registration No. 119051415 RR0001. All Directors of the Association are elected and are unpaid. Their major interest is to serve Canadian Photographers.
