John G. Flores

Dr. John G. Flores is an authority in the field of educational technology and telecommunications. As the former C.E.O./ Executive Director of the United States Distance Learning Association, Dr. Flores, led a global association focused on the research and application of distance learning pedagogy and evaluation. In addition, he was the former Executive Dean and Program Professor at Nova Southeastern University’s Fischler School of Education.

Prior to this, he was appointed by Governor William Weld as Executive Director of the Massachusetts Corporation for Educational Telecommunications (MCET), a Quasi-Public State Agency focused on the development and integration of telecommunication initiatives for all Massachusetts K12 schools, State Colleges, Community Colleges, the UMass System and numerous other State Agencies. Dr. Flores has also served as a K-12 Superintendent of Schools, and as a curriculum and educational technology specialist in his previous professional experiences.

Most recently, as Vice President of the Barnstable Town Council, he served on a number of Town Council committees all of which dealt with issues facing Cape Cod and the Islands. He currently is an appointed Commissioner of the Barnstable Municipal Airport. Dr. Flores continues to consult with numerous technology related companies as well as teaching educational finance and leadership courses on line. Dr. Flores received his B.S. from UMass Boston, his M.S. from Boston University and his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut.
