Christo van der Rheede

Christo van der Rheede who rejoined the CPO board in 2016, is a trained music educator who started his career in 1986 at a primary school on the Cape Flats. He also served as the principal of BOTH West Bank Secondary and Silversands Primary schools. In 2005, he was appointed as the CEO of the SBA (a Media24 sponsored Trust) and became the CEO of the AHi (a national organized small business forum) in 2011. Currently, he is the Deputy CEO of Agri SA, a national organized agricultural body.

He holds Royal School of Music diplomas in Advanced Piano and Singing, a Higher Education Diploma in Music Education, BA Degree in Psychology and Afrikaans (UWC), qualifications in Human Resource Management, Marketing, Financial and Management Accounting, General Business Management and Honour’s Degree in Public Leadership, Public Administration and Development Studies (US Business School). He completed a Master’s Degree in Public Leadership and Administration in 2005 (US School of Public Leadership) and is currently working on his Ph.D. proposal on local economic development.
