Joe Waters

Joe Waters has a diverse work experience. Joe started their career in 2011 as the Executive Vice President of the Institute for Child Success, where they led programs and communications. In 2017, they became a Senior Advisor at Openfields: Cultures that Create. In 2018, Joe co-founded and became the CEO of Capita, a global think tank focused on building a future where all children and families thrive.

Joe Waters has an extensive education history. Joe attended Christ Church Episcopal School from 1996 to 2001, followed by the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities from 1999 to 2001. Joe then pursued their undergraduate studies at Furman University from 2001 to 2005, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. In 2003, they had the opportunity to be a visiting student at the University of Oxford, where they furthered their studies in Theology/Theological Studies. Later, from 2006 to 2009, Joe attended Duke University, obtaining a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree in Theology. During their time at Duke, they also had the opportunity to be a visiting student at the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception at the Dominican House of Studies from 2008 to 2009, expanding their knowledge in Theology/Theological Studies.
