Katharine Gordon is a seasoned attorney with a diverse background in providing legal services and advocacy for marginalized populations, particularly immigrants and individuals facing discrimination. Currently serving as a Senior Attorney at the Capital Area Immigrants' Rights Coalition since February 2020, Katharine leads the National Qualified Representative Program, offering comprehensive legal support to detained immigrants with disabilities in the Maryland, D.C., and Virginia region. Previous roles include Pro Bono Coordinator and Staff Attorney at Al Otro Lado, where Katharine addressed the needs of refugees and asylum seekers, and tenure as Director of the Legal Advocate Program at the American Diabetes Association, focusing on disability discrimination related to diabetes. Katharine's legal experience also encompasses litigation and discovery in major financial cases at KLDiscovery, and advocacy work as a Fellow at the Georgetown Women's Law and Public Policy Fellowship Program. Educational credentials include a JD with honors from The George Washington University Law School and an A.B. magna cum laude from Bryn Mawr College.

The Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition strives to ensure equal justice for all immigrant men, women, and children at risk of detention and deportation in the DC metropolitan area and beyond through direct legal representation, know your rights presentations, impact and advocacy work, and the training of attorneys defending immigrants in the immigration and criminal justice arenas.
