Lauren Williams is the Cofounder and CEO of Capital B, a nonprofit news organization focused on Black Americans, since February 2021. Prior to this role, Lauren held various editorial leadership positions at Vox.com from June 2014 to February 2021, including Senior Vice President and Editor-in-Chief. Earlier career experiences include serving as a Story Editor at Mother Jones, Deputy Editor and Associate Editor at TheRoot.com, and Lifestyle Editor at Black Voices on AOL. Lauren's journalism experience began as a Reporter at Daily Press. Academically, Lauren holds a BA in English and African American Studies from the University of Virginia and an MA in Magazine, Newspaper, and Online Journalism from Syracuse University.
