Head, Internal Controls And Audit at Capital Bancorp

Adebayo Phillips graduated from Babcock University and currently heads the Internal Audit and Control Unit.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (Nigerian Chapter). He had attended numerous trainings in areas not limited to Financials, Compliance (both KPMG and ICAN organized respectively), Anti-Money Laundering {AML/CFT}, Enterprise Risk Management, and supervisory management among others.

Adebayo started his career in 2003 as a Finance/Admin Manager for GOP Network Ltd. After a year, he moved to Churchgate Group and worked as an Internal Auditor for 2 years.

In 2006, he worked as a Resident Auditor/ Ag Finance Manager for Tantalizer Limited and worked with the organization for another two years. Intercontinental Homes Plc. (A subsidiary of Access Bank Plc) was another place where he developed his skills and expertise as he rose to become the Ag Head, Internal Control and Chief Inspector after occupying various posts such as Internal Controller (Head Office) and Branch Resident Controller for various branches within five years.

He then worked as the Financial Manager at I-Cell Integrated Services Ltd before moving to Jagal Group in 2014. Adebayo has worked as the Head of Internal Control/Audit/Risk and Compliance for both Parkway Microfinance Bank Limited and Alliance & General Insurance Plc. respectively.

With Adebayo’s vast work experiences, expertise and professionalism spanning over Sixteen (16) years covering Finance, Accounting, Internal Auditing, Information Systems Audit And Banking Operations, proficiency in the use of many accounting software, he is indeed an Internal Audit Unit at Capital Bancorp Plc.
