Mark Spitler

Mark Spitler has a strong background in the insurance industry with over 25 years of experience. Mark started their career as an Actuarial Analyst at Provident Mutual Life Insurance in 1996 and worked there for two years. Mark then joined Highmark Blue Shield in 1998 as a Senior Actuarial Associate, where they stayed for seven years. In 2005, Mark joined Capital Blue Cross as a Senior Director of Actuarial Services, a role they held until 2023. Mark then became the Chief Actuary at Capital Blue Cross and later was promoted to the role of VP and Chief Actuary. Mark is a highly experienced professional with a deep understanding of actuarial services in the insurance industry.

Mark Spitler obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, where they studied from 1990 to 1995. In addition, they hold certifications as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) from the Society of Actuaries and as a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) from the American Academy of Actuaries.
