Laina Cox

Laina Cox is an experienced educational leader currently serving as Head of School at Capital City Public Charter School since January 2023. Previously, Laina served as Chief of Staff/Head of School Elect at the same institution and held the position of School Ambassador Fellow at the U.S. Department of Education from February to July 2022. Laina's extensive career at Capital City PCS also includes a tenure as Middle School Principal from March 2012 to June 2022. Other roles include School Designer at EL Education, Inc. and Assistant Principal as well as 6th Grade Humanities Teacher at Boston Public Schools. Laina holds an Ed.M in Teaching and Curriculum from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College, along with a high school diploma from Hopkins School.
