Richard Safranek

Richard Safranek is a Senior Managing Director and serves on Wafra’s Management Advisory Committee. Mr. Safranek oversees all consulting services and research, and manages a broad range of special purpose investment vehicles.

Previously, Mr. Safranek also served as a Portfolio Manager at Wafra, covering equity markets in the Asia-Pacific and Emerging Markets regions. He joined Wafra in 1995. Prior to that, Mr. Safranek served as an Investment Analyst at World-Wide Investment Co., a Hong Kong-based family office, where he conducted economic, political and market research on Hong Kong and China. He has over 20 years of investing experience with publicly-traded securities.

Mr. Safranek earned a BA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from Columbia University. He completed a Chinese language program at Beijing Foreign Language Institute.
