Cataldo Doria, MD, PhD, MBA, FACS, currently serves as the Medical Director of the Capital Health System Cancer Center, a position held since September 2018. Prior to this role, Doria was the Director of the Jefferson Transplant Institute at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals from June 2007 to September 2018, where a successful rebranding and development of the institute occurred, fostering a revolutionary model integrating referring physicians into the transplant team. Doria's leadership resulted in significant fundraising achievements exceeding $10 million and consistent growth within the surgical department. With over 25 years of experience in treating liver diseases, Doria also held various positions including Surgical Director at the Kimmel Cancer Center and Director of Abdominal Organ Transplantation at ISMETT in Southern Europe. An accomplished academic, Doria's educational background includes an MBA from Temple University, a PhD in Surgery Biotechnology and Transplant Immunology, and multiple fellowships in transplantation.
