Matt Der is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently serving as Senior Director at Capital One since December 2017, Matt leads the development of AI/ML technology from research and development to production, ensuring its accessibility across the organization. Previous roles at Capital One include Director and Senior Manager within the Center for Machine Learning, where Matt focused on machine learning solutions and consulting. Prior to joining Capital One, Matt was the Chief Technology Officer at Notch, Co., where the business was distinguished for its machine learning expertise before being acquired. Matt's early career includes internships at Google in the Infrastructure Privacy team, where contributions were made to enhance internal privacy through machine learning. Matt holds a Ph.D. and an MS in Computer Science from UC San Diego, and a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Richmond.
