Lauren Gemmill

Lauren Gemmill oversees the administrative operations of the curriculum and instruction of all BOCES programs. Prior to coming to BOCES in 2019, Gemmill was the assistant superintendent for instruction with the Niskayuna Central School District and served as a principal of the district’s Rosendale Elementary School for six years.

Among her many achievements in Niskayuna was the establishment of a program review process to ensure that academic programs are updated on a regular basis to support student learning and prepare them for a changing world. This was a collaborative process with instructional leaders and teachers and involved gathering feedback from many stakeholders. Gemmill led the district’s Professional Learning and Instructional Technology committees and oversaw a multi-year curriculum design initiative involving teams of teachers at all levels. She also coordinated professional learning efforts focused on equity, diversity, and trauma-informed practices.
