Barb Desjardins

Board Director Esquimalt Representative at Capital Regional District

Barb Desjardins is the Mayor of the Township of Esquimalt, which has a population of approximately 18,000, and has held this position since December 2008. In addition, Barb serves as the Chair of First Nation Economic Development for the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority since May 2018 and has been a Board Director representing Esquimalt on the Capital Regional District Board since December 2011. In this role, Barb chairs the Environmental Sustainability Committee and participates in various committees including Core Liquid Waste Management and Transportation, Planning and Protective Services. Barb previously served as Vice Chair of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority from June 2011 to May 2013 and had the honor of acting Chair during a significant governance review. Barb holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto.
