Michael Foster

Michael Foster has a diverse background in software engineering, with experience in both frontend and full stack development. Michael is currently working as a Lead Software Engineer at Hum Capital, where they lead a team of 5 engineers and establishes frontend governance to ensure efficient development processes. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Outside, where they developed standards and best practices for a React component library and led the development of headless Wordpress React applications. Michael also has experience as a Full Stack Engineer at Penske Media Corporation, where they maintained a partner network dashboard application and performed code reviews for mobile applications. Michael has also worked as a Frontend Engineer in freelance roles, creating high-quality web pages using HTML, CSS, React, and Redux. In addition, Michael has experience as a Web Development Lead at Eidex, where they created visual design standards, built wireframes, and coordinated project flow. Michael also worked as a Software Developer and Software Development Intern at Eidex, developing data visualization modules and maintaining web applications. Prior to their professional career, Michael gained experience as a Web Assistant at Grand Valley State University and as a Computer Lab Tutor at Grand Rapids Community College.

Michael Foster received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Grand Valley State University from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate's degree in Computer Science from Grand Rapids Community College from 2012 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, Michael also obtained several certifications. In 2020, they completed the "Introduction to Augmented Reality and ARCore" course by Google AR & VR on Coursera. In 2016, they completed the "R Programming" course, and in 2015, they completed "The Data Scientist's Toolbox" course, both also on Coursera.
