Cam Fischer is a highly experienced professional with an extensive background in cyber security, architecture, and IT operations. They started their career in 1999 at Today's Technology, where they worked as an Advanced Services specialist until 2000. They then joined Horizon Computer Solutions Inc. as an Advanced Services professional until 2002. During this time, they gained expertise in IT Managed Operations and team leadership.

In 2002, Cam joined Stantec Consulting Ltd as a Team lead for IT Managed Operations. They held this position until 2012, acquiring valuable knowledge in managing operational teams.

In 2012, Cam started their journey at Teradata as a Data Center Architect. Here, they provided technical leadership to the R&D team and played a crucial role in defining and implementing data center management standards and procedures. They also oversaw the technical architecture of the company's data center, which had a significant physical and virtual server footprint.

Later in 2012, Cam transitioned within Capital Power from Director of Infrastructure & Architecture to Director of Cyber Security & Architecture. In this role, they provided leadership to the Cyber Security program, overseeing planning, strategy, and operations. They also managed teams and managers responsible for various IT functions including Cyber Security, IT Architecture, Server Operations, Desktop Support, and more. Additionally, they served as a project sponsor for capital projects and managed an operating budget.

Throughout their career, Cam has demonstrated their expertise and innate leadership skills, contributing significantly to the organizations they've worked for. They hold certifications including CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CEH, and GSTRT, further validating their proficiency in the field.

Cam Fischer, CISSP CISM CRISC CEH GSTRT, completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Information Systems from Pace University in 2011. They have acquired several additional certifications throughout their career. In 1998, they obtained the CompTIA A+ certification and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) - NT 4.0 certification from Microsoft. Following that, in 1999, Cam Fischer received the Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) credential from Citrix. In 2000, they obtained the Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator (CCEA) - MetaFrame certification from Citrix. In 2001, they became an Accredited Systems Engineer - HP ProLiant ML/DL/SL Servers [2010] (ASE-MLDLSL10) through Hewlett Packard Enterprise. In 2004, they achieved the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification from Microsoft. In 2005, they acquired the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from EC-Council. Additionally, Cam Fischer obtained two other certifications in 2005: ITIL Foundation Level from OCG and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Windows Server 2003 (MCSE) from Microsoft. Continuing their professional development, they earned the HPUX - Certified System Administrator (HPUX v2) certification through Hewlett Packard Enterprise in 2006. In 2007, Cam Fischer obtained the VMware Certified Professional 4 certification from VMware. Recently, in 2021, they completed the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification through (ISC)². They also achieved the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA in the same year. In 2022, Cam Fischer added three certifications to their profile: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council, Certified In Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) from ISACA, and Advanced Operations rPAS Pilot License from the Government of Canada.
