In 2019, Diederic joined Capital Power as a Senior Specialist Engineer, Mechanical and Optimization. Diederic was responsible for optimizing engineering processes and providing technical expertise. In 2021, they were promoted to Senior Manager roles, first in Mechanical and Optimization Engineering, and then in Technical Support and Optimization Engineering.

Diederic Godin completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa in 1994. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained certifications in areas such as ABSA In-Service Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspection from the Alberta Boilers Safety Association and National Board IS Commission and R Endorsement from The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors.
