Igor Piven has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Igor started their career in 2012 as a Management Trainee Intern at Enterprise. Igor then worked as a Lab Instructor and Teacher's Assistant at the University of Alberta in 2012, gaining experience in education. In 2013, they joined Rocky Mountain Business Seminar (RMBS) as an External Associate. Igor then transitioned to Shaw Communications in 2014, where they worked as a Quantitative Management Consultant for a few months. In the same year, they also joined Capital Power as an Energy Management Specialist, a position they held until 2017. Igor then took on the role of Operations and Compliance Specialist, Energy Management at the same company until 2021. In 2021, Igor became a Performance Specialist, Renewables at Capital Power, specializing in renewable energy. Currently, they hold the position of Commercial Manager, Renewables (CA/US) at Capital Power.
Igor Piven completed their Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a focus on Finance and Operations Management at the University of Alberta, from 2009 to 2014.

Capital Power Corporation is a North American power producing company. The Company develops, acquires, operates and optimizes power generation from a range of energy sources. The Company is engaged in the operation of electrical generation facilities within Canada, including Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario, and in the United States, including North Carolina, New Mexico and Kansas. It also holds a portfolio of wind and solar development sites in the United States. It owns over 3, 200 megawatts (MW) of power generation capacity at approximately 20 facilities across North America and owns approximately 370 MW of capacity through its interest in the Sundance C power purchase arrangement (Sundance PPA). It also owns natural gas, wind, and solid fuel facilities and has a range of generation facilities in development or construction in Canada and the United States. Its facilities include Clover Bar Energy Centre 1, 2 and 3, Genesee 3, Clover Bar Landfill Gas and K2 Wind.
