Steven Semenjuk has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Steven started their career in 2002 as a Research Assistant at the University of Alberta, where they worked on studying norms on matrices under supervision. In 2003, they continued as a Research Assistant at the same university, focusing on researching optimal averaging of global temperature.

In 2004, Steven worked as a Teaching Assistant at The University of British Columbia, where they provided assistance to professors in their teaching responsibilities. In 2006, they joined EPCOR as a Risk Analyst in Corporate Risk Management, analyzing market risks for a diverse portfolio and developing quantitative tools for modeling and reporting.

In 2009, Steven moved to Capital Power as a Quantitative Risk Manager, responsible for managing a team that quantified and analyzed commodity market and credit risks. During their tenure, they developed the team and implemented risk management best practices. In 2016, they were promoted to Valuations Manager, where they led valuation analysis for acquisitions, developments, and other commercial initiatives, successfully completing various high-value projects.

Currently, Steven holds the position of Director of Forecasting & Analytics and Commodity Risk at Capital Power. In this role, they provide strategic direction and leadership in managing fundamental forecasts and market analytics. Steven also oversees the Forecasting & Analytics Team and supports decision making to improve the company's financial performance.

Steven Semenjuk completed their BSc Honors in Mathematics and Economics at the University of Alberta from 2000 to 2004. Afterward, they pursued an MA in Economics at The University of British Columbia from 2004 to 2005.
