Zahra Arablou has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. Zahra started their career at TransAlta in 2012 as an Energy Dispatch Analyst and later transitioned to the role of Risk Analyst from 2014 to 2018. In 2019, Zahra joined Inter Pipeline as a Pricing Consultant for a brief period of two months. Zahra then moved on to Capital Power, where they have held two positions: Risk Analyst from July 2019 to August 2020 and currently serving as a Risk Specialist from September 2020 to present.
Zahra Arablou completed a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics/Mathematical Finance at the University of Calgary, which they finished in 2019. Prior to their Master's degree, they also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Calgary, which was completed in 2012.

Capital Power Corporation is a North American power producing company. The Company develops, acquires, operates and optimizes power generation from a range of energy sources. The Company is engaged in the operation of electrical generation facilities within Canada, including Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario, and in the United States, including North Carolina, New Mexico and Kansas. It also holds a portfolio of wind and solar development sites in the United States. It owns over 3, 200 megawatts (MW) of power generation capacity at approximately 20 facilities across North America and owns approximately 370 MW of capacity through its interest in the Sundance C power purchase arrangement (Sundance PPA).
