Merih Öztaylan has a long and diverse work experience in the visual effects and animation industry. They currently serve as the CEO and co-founder of Capoom since 2020. Prior to that, they worked at otomat film as a VFX Supervisor and Partner starting from 2011. From 2006 to 2010, Merih held the role of VFX Supervisor and Partner at Makina. They also worked at Sinefekt as a Senior Compositing (Inferno) Artist and VFX Supervisor from 2002 to 2006. Before that, Merih was a Senior Compositing (Inferno) Artist at Das Werk from 2000 to 2002. Their career began at Sinefekt in 1994, where they worked as a 3D Animation and Modelling, Compositing (Inferno) Artist until 2000. Merih's first job in the industry was at Frame Animation Studio as a 3D Animation & Modeling artist from 1993 to 1994.
Merih Öztaylan began their education at Syracuse University in 1985, where they studied Electronics Engineering. Merih completed their studies at Syracuse University in 1987. Following this, from 1987 to 1990, they attended Boğaziçi University and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering. In 1990, Öztaylan enrolled at Marmara University for further studies in Industrial Design, which they pursued until 1992.
