Nicola Murray-Smith

Nicola is a Senior Associate in the regulatory team. She qualified in 2011 and worked in Criminal Defence and Prison Law. Before joining Capsticks, she worked as an Investigations Lawyer at the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Nicola has extensive experience in investigative work, particularly in investigating fitness to practise cases. At the Nursing and Midwifery Council she specialised in advising on risk and interim orders and she also presented interim order hearings.

Nicola was involved in the implementation of the new Fitness to Practise Strategy at the Nursing and Midwifery Council and in the development of the contextual factors pilot.

Since joining Capsticks, Nicola has been involved in assessing complex cases for a regulatory client and advising on their progress.

Nicola is currently studying a Master’s Degree in Medical Law at King’s College London University.
