Geoffrey Frankel

Geoffrey Frankel is a Managing Director of Capstone Partners’ Financial Advisory Services (FAS) group and head of its Special Situations Investment Banking Practice. With over 30 years of experience, he is nationally recognized as a leader in sourcing and executing mergers and acquisitions, special situations financings, corporate/bankruptcy reorganizations, and litigation support services for middle-market businesses. Geoffrey leverages a broad base of professional experiences that include investment banking advisory, turnaround management, private equity investing, and law. He has successfully advised clients on strategic transactions across a broad range of industries, with particular emphasis on industrial and manufacturing, metals and mining, retail and consumer, and business services.

Prior to joining Capstone, Geoffrey was the CEO and Senior Managing Director of Hilco Corporate Finance – the investment banking affiliate of Hilco Global – where he built and managed a special situation-focused boutique investment banking and financial advisory services practice. He also served as the practice leader for Hilco’s enterprise valuation practice, which provided business valuation, fairness opinion, and litigation consulting services. Geoffrey’s investment banking career includes experience as a Managing Director at the Key Capital Markets, Harris Williams, and Huron Consulting Group. His experience at each of these firms focused on advising distressed businesses and their key stakeholders. Geoffrey began his career as a restructuring lawyer at Skadden in New York City, and he also practiced law at Jones Day in Cleveland, Ohio.
