Rémi Fournier

Lead R D Hard Capsules at Capsugel Holdings US, Inc.

Rémi Fournier has a diverse work experience in the field of polymer science and research. Starting in 2010, Rémi worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the Laboratoire de Chimie des Polymères-UPMC, where they synthesized organic-inorganic hybrids through RAFT polymerization. In 2011, they served as an Industrial Research Assistant in Polymer Analysis at Agfa, conducting a feasibility study on offline hyphenated LC-NMR for complex mixture analysis. In 2012, Rémi worked as an undergraduate research assistant at Matière Molle et Chimie-ESPCI ParisTech, focusing on catalytic control and new materials in the field of vitrimers. From 2013 to 2016, they were a PhD student at Matière Molle et Chimie-ESPCI Paris, funded by Total E&P, studying associative polymers for enhanced oil recovery. Rémi carried out experiments on rheology, light scattering, stimuli-responsive materials, thickening agents, and hydrogels. In 2013, Rémi continued their research as a Graduate Research Assistant at the same institution, investigating the rheological and thermo-mechanical properties of vitrimers. In 2016, they became an R&D Manager at POWELTEC, where they were responsible for overseeing research and development projects. Currently, Rémi is working as a Lead in R&D Hard Capsules at Capsugel, a role they started in December 2022. Prior to this, they held positions as a Senior Polymer Scientist and Polymer Scientist at the same company from 2018 to 2022. Overall, Rémi has gained substantial expertise in polymer science, with a focus on the development and analysis of various materials.

Rémi Fournier began their education in 2004 at Lycée Mongazon, where they studied at the Advanced Level. Rémi then attended CPI-ENSCR from 2007 to 2009, focusing on Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. In 2009, Rémi joined ESPCI Paris - PSL, where they pursued an Advanced Master of Science and Engineer Diploma in Chemistry until 2013. Subsequently, Rémi earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Macroscopic Physics and Complexity (formerly "Physique des Liquides") from ESPCI ParisTech - Ecole Normale Supérieure - Université Pierre et Marie Curie in 2013. Finally, Rémi completed their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Polymer Science from ESPCI Paris - PSL in 2016.
