Roel Castano

Roel Castano is an iOS Engineer currently at Captions since April 2023, with a strong background in software engineering. Previously, Roel served as a Senior Software Engineer for Instagram Feed from February 2021 to November 2022 and held a similar senior role at Facebook, working on both Facebook Pages and Facebook Video. An early career at Facebook also included an internship in 2016. Roel's experience began with an internship at Icalia Labs as an iOS Developer, following a role as a Google Student Ambassador in the Google GSA Program. Academic achievements include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Tecnológico de Monterrey and a year's study at Aalborg University. Additionally, Roel contributed as treasurer of the ACM ITESM Chapter, managing financial aspects of events and promoting collaboration with major tech companies.
