Raymond Tejada is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the restaurant and community service sectors. As a Small Business Consultant at Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber of Commerce since August 2023, Raymond is also a member of the chamber's Advisory Board. From September 2019 to present, Raymond serves as Assistant Kitchen Manager at Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Previously, from 1995 to August 2023, Raymond owned and managed Matador Restaurant, overseeing all operations including marketing, HR, and event coordination. With a background in circulation at Detroit Free Press from 1971 to 1995, Raymond holds a degree from the University of Detroit Mercy, earned in 1976.

The mission of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen is to provide food, clothing, encouragement, direction and other assistance, in a dignified and respectful setting, to all people in need - regardless of their race, ehtnicity, gender or health. We work with other community agencies, volunteers and benefactors to provide an atmosphere conducive to growth and wholesome independence among our clients. Our Mission: Inspired by the life and spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, we: -tend to people's basic needs, especially the need for food, -strive to stimulate minds and nourish spirits, and -work to understand and address root causes of social injustice in our community. In all we do, we seek to build alliances with others who share a commitment to this vision.
