Robbi J. Jones

As founder and president of Kipling Jones & Co., Robbi Jones brings three decades of investment banking expertise to Kipling Jones & Co.’s clients. Kipling Jones & Co., a Texas woman-owned, full service regional investment banking firm, specializes in providing investment banking services to the public sector, as well as private institutions which further economic development throughout the nation. Robbi is developing alternative methods of financing infrastructure projects, including innovative uses of public private partnerships as well as initiatives which incorporate participation by philanthropic institutions. Since the creation of the national Opportunity Zone program in late 2017, Ms. Jones has actively worked with clients to structure optimal capital stacks for projects that serve low income communities. In addition to providing investment banking services to developers and investors, she was recently appointed to the City of Houston’s Opportunity Zone Working Group. In this capacity, she has created, and chairs, the Investment Committee.

Previously, Robbi played an integral role in structuring large transactions, such as a $3 billion water and sewer transaction for the City of Houston, which financed infrastructure improvements. Robbi also served as banker for numerous small to mid-size transactions focused on housing, healthcare and other economic development and infrastructure initiatives. Her experience includes transit and transportation finance, water and sewer systems, higher education, and numerous general infrastructure projects, including parks, greenways, and recreational facilities.

A graduate of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Ms. Jones holds a Master of Business Administration with Specializations in Finance and Accounting. Ms. Jones has also undertaken post graduate studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

A frequent public speaker, Ms. Jones has addressed the Southern Governor’s Association, Bloomberg Texas Public Finance Conference, and the National Municipal Bond Summit. Her civic activities include: Member of Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board’s Professional Qualifications Advisory Committee (Washington, D.C.); Member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, Women in Public Finance (Texas Chapter); Member and Treasurer of the Board of Directors, Center for Climate Strategies (Washington, D.C.); Member, Municipal Executive Committee, Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (“SIFMA”); Member, Executive Committee, Center for Houston’s Future; Member, Board of Directors, Houston Downtown Management District; and former Member and Chairperson of the audit committee, Board of Trustees, Talladega College (Alabama).
