Joel Pomerenk

Joel leads the Finance, Accounting, HR, Technology, Public Grants, and Operations teams. He joined Cara in 2019, bringing more than two decades of experience in senior finance leadership posts across Fortune 100, nonprofit, and education sectors. At Oracle Corporation, Joel managed various global financial planning and analysis functions for ten years, departing as Finance Vice President. Prior to that, he spent four years as Chief Financial Officer of Adler University, a Chicago-based nonprofit graduate school. A California native, Joel earned his BA in Economics from Occidental College in Los Angeles, and his MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He serves on the Board of Directors of MYSI, a Chicago-based social service organization, and on the Board Finance Committee at Spark Chicago.
