Head of Product and Marketing at Caravan

Kim Ellery has over 12 years of experience in product and marketing roles. In 2019, they were appointed as the Head of Product and Marketing for Caravan. Prior to this, they were the Senior Director Product Marketing at Absolute Software from 2012 to 2019, where they built the Product Marketing, Solutions, Technical Marketing and Product Analytics teams to execute campaigns, product releases, sales and partner enablement. Kim also launched persona research, customer journey mapping, and sales playbook initiatives, and led analyst relations, pricing/packaging and customer referral programs. Kim also held the roles of Senior Product Marketing Manager and Product Marketing Manager at Absolute Software from 2012 to 2019. From 2007 to 2012, Kim Ellery worked at Mobile Mentor Ltd. as the Product & Service Delivery Manager, International Business Development, and Smartphone Mentor. In their roles, they were involved in the sales cycle from pre-sales technical consultant through to successful implementation, developed sales collateral, sales strategy and business analysis, and demonstrated products and services to key stakeholders. Kim also delivered one-on-one personalised smartphone mentoring sessions for premium customers.

Kim Ellery attended the University of Otago from 2004 to 2006, earning a BCom in Marketing and Information Science. In 2009 and 2010, they completed a Certificate in Web Design and Writing at Open Polytechnic New Zealand in Information Technology. In 2016, they completed an Intro to iOS Development course at Lighthouse Labs in Information Technology. In 2019, Kim earned a Certificate in Agile Development at BrainStation. Additionally, they obtained a Pragmatic Marketing Framework certification from Pragmatic Marketing in September 2014 and became ITIL 2011 Certified in August 2013.
