David Zender

David Zender has a diverse work experience in the legal field. David worked as a Lawyer (Practicing in Association) at Caravel Law starting in 2014. In the same year, they also served as the General Counsel (Part-time) for the Retail Council of Canada. Prior to that, they were the Senior Director, Legal (General Counsel) at Home Depot from 2002 to 2012. David also held the position of Vice President & Chief Legal Counsel at Foot Locker Canada (formerly Venator Group Canada Inc.) from 2000 to 2001. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Lawyer at Heenan Blaikie and as an In-House Counsel at Shell. David started their professional journey as an Articling Student and Associate at Torys LLP and served as a Law Clerk for Mr. Justice Willard E. Estey of the Supreme Court of Canada. Throughout their career, David has developed expertise in various areas of law, including corporate and commercial law, employment law, intellectual property law, competition law, real estate law, and litigation management.

David Zender completed their education in a chronological order as follows: David attended York University from 1979 to 1981, majoring in Economics. Then, from 1981 to 1984, they studied at York University - Osgoode Hall Law School, where they obtained an LL.B. degree. Finally, they pursued further education at the University of Cambridge from 1985 to 1986, earning an LL.M. degree with a specialization in International Law.
