Care Operations Manager & Health Advisor Lead at Caraway

Laura Hollander has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of public health education, wellness education, program coordination, and advocacy. Laura began their career as a Research Fellow at the University of Michigan, where they worked on proposing curriculum reforms to promote physical activity in schools. Laura then served as a Robin Hood Project Intern at Advocates for Children of New York, representing families in navigating the NYC school system and securing educational rights.

Laura later worked as a Campus Representative for Maven Clinic, a Public Education Strategist at the Brennan Center for Justice, and a Program Coordinator at the Injury Center-University of Michigan. In these roles, they focused on raising awareness and advocating for various causes, including menstrual equity and youth empowerment.

Laura also gained experience in health education and outreach as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan, a Program Assistant & Health Educator at Wolverine Wellness, and a Prevention and Wellness Educator at Educational Alliance. Laura'sresponsibilities included designing and implementing educational programs, conducting evaluations, and developing strategic partnerships.

Most recently, Laura worked as a Public Health Educator at NYC Health + Hospitals, where they developed and implemented educational and outreach programs to promote access to healthcare for low-income and under-insured New Yorkers. Laura also managed an adolescent sexual health education program and used feedback mechanisms to improve operations and increase health compliance.

Currently, Laura is working as a Health Advisor Lead at Caraway, where they are utilizing their expertise to lead a team of health advisors.

Laura Hollander earned a Bachelor's degree in International/Global Studies from the University of Michigan from 2014 to 2018. Laura then pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a focus on Health Behavior & Health Education at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, during the years 2017 to 2019. In November 2020, Laura obtained a certification as a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice.
