Paul Dauenhauer

Paul Dauenhauer is a Zsolt Rumy Innovation Chair and Lanny & Charlotte Schmidt Professor in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota. Paul is also an Associate Professor and Director at the Center for Programmable Energy Catalysis. In addition, Paul is the Co-Founder of Carba, a company focused on Direct Air Capture technology. Paul is also a Co-Founder of Låkril Technologies and Sironix Renewables. Paul serves as the Chief Technical Advisor at Activated Research Company and was an Associate Editor at Chemical Engineering Science. Paul has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Carba specializes in low energy Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) solutions with permanent storage. Through low temperature pyrolysis (torrefaction) we convert nature-based biomass/waste into graphitic carbon and permanently bury/store it for thousands of years. Carba is working with engaged stakeholders to solve the climate crisis. We plan to capture a gigatonne of Carbon per year by 2032.
