Professor Ed (艾) Craig has a diverse and extensive work experience in various organizations. Professor Ed ( 艾 ) is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Carbogenics, a spin-out from the University of Edinburgh that produces an additive to improve the efficiency of AD plants. Professor Ed ( 艾 ) is also an Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh and a member of the International Advisory Board at Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Low Carbon College.
Prior to their current roles, Professor Craig served as a Senior Affiliate at Boston University and as a Member of the Policy Committee at the Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI). Professor Ed ( 艾 ) was also a Council (Board) Member for Scotland at WWF-UK.
Professor Craig has held significant positions at various universities. Professor Ed ( 艾 ) was the Executive Dean of the Centre for Business, Innovation & Enterprise at Staffordshire University and the Dean of the SJTU China-UK Low Carbon College, a partnership between the University of Edinburgh and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Professor Ed ( 艾 ) was also the Founder, Executive Director, and Head of Innovation at the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation, which aimed to become a national hub for low carbon research, innovation, policy, and skills.
In addition, Professor Craig served as the Director of the Board at the Hong Kong Centre for Carbon Innovation. Their extensive work experience and leadership roles highlight their expertise in the field of low carbon research, sustainable innovation, and business development.
Professor Ed Craig's education history begins with their enrollment in the Business/Managerial Economics and International Economics program at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford in 2016. Professor Ed ( 艾 ) completed the Oxford University Business Economics Programme within the same year. Prior to that, they pursued their DBA degree specializing in Knowledge Exchange, Innovation & Low Carbon at Edinburgh Napier University from 2009 to 2012. To further enrich their knowledge, they obtained an MSc in Human Ecology from The University of Edinburgh between 1993 and 1994. Beginning in 1988, they pursued their undergraduate studies at The University of Edinburgh and graduated with a BCom Hons degree in Business Commerce in 1992. In recognition of their notable contributions to the field, Professor Ed Craig is currently pursuing an Honorary Doctorate in Sustainability Studies at The University of Edinburgh, a program that began in 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2026.
