David Kaufman

David Kaufman has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. David currently serves as the Head of Intellectual Property at Carbon Clean since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Intellectual Property Analyst at UKAEA from 2020 to 2022, where they managed the intellectual property pipeline and provided IP leadership. From 2016 to 2020, David was a Principal Technical Advisor at TiVo, specializing in patent assertion and licensing in the digital entertainment sector. Before that, they worked as an Intellectual Property Strategy Consultant at ClearViewIP from 2014 to 2016, where they provided strategic advice on IP issues to technology companies. David also had a brief self-employed period as an IP Management Consultant in 2014 and worked as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office from 2010 to 2013. David began their career as a Materials Engineer at AVX-Thin Films Operation in 2008 and later served as a Materials Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory from 1999 to 2006. David started their professional journey as a Graduate Research Assistant at Northwestern University from 1993 to 1998.

David Kaufman completed their education in materials science and engineering. David obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from the University of Illinois Chicago, where they studied from 1988 to 1993. David then pursued further academic excellence at Northwestern University, where they earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering. David'sdoctoral studies extended from 1993 to 1998.
