Misako Akabori has 10 years of work experience in the fashion industry. Misako began their career in 2006 as a Design Intern for Warnaco. In 2007, they moved to Abercrombie & Fitch as a Design Intern. In 2008, they became a Senior Designer for Thomas Wylde. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a Freelance Collections Designer for Skingraft Designs and a Collections Designer for Bailey 44. In 2016, they were a Senior Design Lecturer at Otis College of Art and Design and a Head Textile/Print Designer & Creative Director at Thomas Wylde. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Freelance Graphic Designer for Dimmak Collections for Steve Aoki and is currently a CAD & Graphic/Textile Designer for Carbon38.

Misako Akabori attended Otis College of Art and Design from 2005 to 2008. Misako then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Fine/Studio Arts, General from the University of California, Los Angeles.
