Nick Byrne has over 20 years of work experience in the medical device industry. Currently, they work as a Business Consultant for CardiacSense, focusing on the UK market. Prior to this, Nick worked at CardioLogic Ltd as a Business Consultant, where they developed business in coronary intervention and electrophysiology markets. Nick also played a significant role in the development and promotion of innovative medical devices such as the Biomime stent and the Carnation ECG recorder.
Before joining CardiacSense, Nick worked at Acist Europe B.V. as a Business Manager, where they focused on market development for FFR and IVUS HD products. Nick was responsible for creating the UK FFR registry and providing clinical support and training for new customers. Nick also introduced the IVUS HD UK program and managed exhibitions and live cases for UK congresses.
Prior to their role at Acist Europe B.V., Nick worked as a Business Development Manager at Miracor Medical SA. Nick played a crucial role in the development and sales of the PiCSO medical device technology. Additionally, they were responsible for sourcing funding for product development and clinical trials and collaborated with various medical organizations.
Earlier in their career, Nick served as a Sales Manager at Cappella Medical Devices Ltd, where they led sales, marketing, and business development activities for coronary bifurcation devices. Nick achieved a market paradigm shift by identifying key opinion leaders, developing clinical registries, and building a high-performance sales team.
Nick began their career as the Owner and Managing Director of Apex Medical Devices Ltd. Nick later worked as a Sales Manager for Sorin Group, where they handled sales, marketing, and business development for the interventional cardiology division. Nick also managed strategic alliances and registries for the company.
Before Sorin Group, Nick served as the General Manager at Dot Medical Ltd, where they had full financial responsibilities and successfully launched the Alert cardioversion system. Nick also worked as the UK Sales Manager for BIOTRONIK and as an International Marketing Manager for Jomed AB.
Nick Byrne completed a Master of Business Administration (International) degree in Strategic Management at Staffordshire University from 1995 to 1998. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma in Management Studies from Liverpool John Moores University between 1985 and 1987. In 1981, they also earned a Diploma in Marketing from The University of Salford, specializing in the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
