Colan Mehaffey

Colan Mehaffey serves as the Strategic Director for Policy, Impact & Partnerships at Cardiff Capital Region since September 2021, focusing on regional economic wellbeing, spatial planning, and transport. In addition, Colan is a Steering Group Member of the Digital Inclusion Alliance Wales, advocating for digital skills access across Wales. Previous roles include Chief Operating Officer at the Usher Institute, University of Edinburgh, where Colan drove the health and social care sector of the £600m Data-Driven Innovation programme. Colan has also held various board positions and led significant digital transformation initiatives in multiple organizations including the National Trust for Scotland and the Scottish Government. Colan’s academic background includes a degree in Film and Media Studies from the University of Stirling.
