Melissa Wood

Melissa Wood is a seasoned professional in policy and public affairs, currently serving as the Senior Policy and Public Affairs Lead (Cymru) at Barnardo's since March 2023. Previously, Melissa held the position of Senior Associate at the Equality and Human Rights Commission from May 2017 to April 2023. In the earlier part of the career, Melissa co-directed the Women's Equality Network Wales from August 2015 to May 2017 and coordinated the Women in Construction Wales initiative at the WAVE project from November 2012 to August 2015. Melissa's academic background includes an MSc in Equality & Diversity from Cardiff University, obtained from 2010 to 2013, and a BA (Hons) in Humanities with a focus on American Studies from The University of Glamorgan, completed from 1995 to 1998.
