Joe Pohlen

Joe Pohlen is currently the Co-Founder at Cardinal Senior Management. Prior to this, Joe was with Ancora Properties from January 2012 to September 2015 where they were the Investments LLC and focused on purchasing distressed apartment and self storage communities.

In this fast-growing start-up, Joe drove the business direction, strategy, and growth; led the management team; oversaw asset acquisition; and managed the investor and banking relationships.

Some highlights during their time at Ancora Properties include co-founding the firm, growing to 11 employees and a property portfolio of 12 apartment communities with 600 units. Joe also led the acquisition of 8 struggling apartment complexes in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Lansing, and Battle Creek, involving all aspects of purchasing and due diligence. Joe was also successful in raising capital from multiple investors and successfully sold off the self-storage assets in 2015. Joe sold controlled interest in the company in 2015.

Joe Pohlen received their Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and their Entrepreneurship degree from Grand Valley State University.
